Ministry 101 – Don’t fret!

Ministry, Life, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, FamilyDoing the ministry in God’s kingdom isn’t always easy. Not only do you have to deal with your weakness and shortcomings, but you will face those people in your family who don’t believe God you serve or what you stand. It’s a disappointment that you will sense time to time when that happens in your ministry life.

It might be your spouse who has a different belief.

It might be your children who don’t follow after steps of your faith.

It might be one of your family member who doesn’t see a value in what you do in ministry.

If you are fighting that battle right now, don’t fret!

Do not fret because of those who are evil  or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither,  like green plants they will soon die away.

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,  and he will give you the desires of your heart. – Psalm 37:1-4 NIV

Of course, it’s not fun to have those kinds of conflicts in your home or ministry. Sadly, the enemy often uses those people who are very close to you or important for your life to discourage you or even attack who you are in Christ. He knows that’s much harmful than people you can cut off if you want to. He is tricky.

You might wonder what you did wrong, not doing enough, or did too much when your family members are not on the same page. Most of the time, it’s nothing to do with you. As you have your own will to make decisions, each person has their own choice to make. Now, they might blame you for something they feel or dislikes because you are the person they can see with their eyes. But it’s the person who lives in you that they are fighting. That is the person of the Holy Spirit.

So, don’t fret!

How can you keep on doing your ministry and don’t fret?

1. God is fighting for you

You may not see what God is doing with their hearts or lives, but He is fighting for you. Remember that you aren’t fighting flesh and blood. It’s a spiritual battle.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. – Ephesians 6:12 NIV

2. Trust God and do good

You know you are called and chosen by God to do good work. Don’t let those trouble stop what God had begun good work in your life.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. – 2 Timothy 4:7 NIV

3. Don’t fret and pray!

Keep standing on what you believe about God and who you are in Christ. Let God deal with those people who are blinded. Keep on doing what you are called to do and pray for those people in your life to experience God themselves.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. – Philippians 4:6 NIV

  1. It happens so often that many people do not even talk about it. The points you gave are perfect. Because if a person does what God has called them to do and live the Christian life. Those who are questioning will see just how serious a person is for God.

We cannot change people’s hearts that it up to God to do that. Also, I do believe that the ones who are questioning us they see the change they are just fighting it. The enemy uses those who are close to us every time.

God is faithful and the devil himself must submit to GOD!
