Being thankful takes some practice. Being grateful for the things you have in life can be easily found if you pay closer attention. But you sometimes forget the people that God has placed in your life. You can’t do your ministry by yourself. You’ll always have people that give their hands and time to help out.
Have you ever got frustrated about not being appreciated by others for what you do? Of course, you are working for the Lord, and that’s all the matter in the end. But it’s nice to be recognized for your excellent work once in a while. Everyone should receive a gift of recognition sometimes.
giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ – Ephesians 5:20 ESV
People in your ministry life are gifts from the Lord. Now, you might have someone that you feel like they can’t be gifts, but they are! God places all those people in your life for a reason. Challenges for you and I are how you’ll find that gift in them and receive it with thankful hearts. Are you ready to give them the gift of recognition? The bible challenges you and I,
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” – Acts 20:35 ESV
The real blessing comes to you by giving and not just receiving. As Jesus came to give instead of to receive, you and I must practice giving more. Giving the gift of recognition to others bless you in the end.
What does the gift of recognition do to others?
1. It encourages them to do more
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. – 1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV
The gift of recognition encourages them to do more and better. The spirit of the ministry of people will build up. Just imagine how much you’ll be glad if someone gave you the word of recognition.
2. It strengths them to face challenges
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. – Philippians 4:13 ESV
No one is confident enough to do their ministry. Every one of us doubts our ability for the thing we are called to do. By giving you recognition and appreciation to people you work with, their hearts will be strengthened and help them face their challenges. Be the voice of God in their lives.
3. It makes the body of Christ function
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. – Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV
By giving the gift of recognition, you are making the body of Christ to function correctly. It is about God’s Kingdom and His glory.
