Ministry 101 – Be available for a miracle

Jesus, Christmas, God, Angel, Bible, Faith, MinistryThere are two different kinds of Christ’s followers in this world. One is satisfied to know that they have a promise for eternity security in heaven. And the other one is want to use their lives to impact the world in Christ’s name. Do you want to accomplish something great with your life? Do you know what the difference between those two groups is?

Availability.

God performs miracles in our lives. But often, He uses us to be a part of His work. God might use someone without his knowledge for a miraculous work. But that person has no idea if he experienced the power of God. There’s a way for you to experience God’s mighty work. That is – Be available for a miracle that God wants to perform through your life!

Are you available for God to accomplish His Kingdom work?

A young Jewish girl changed the history of the world because she made herself available to the Lord. Her name was Mary.

30 The angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid, Mary, because God is very pleased with you. 31 Listen! You will become pregnant and have a baby boy. You will name him Jesus. 32 He will be great. People will call him the Son of the Most High God, and the Lord God will make him king like his ancestor David. 33 He will rule over the people of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.”

34 Mary said to the angel, “How will this happen? I am still a virgin.”

35 The angel said to Mary, “The Holy Spirit will come to you, and the power of the Most High God will cover you. The baby will be holy and will be called the Son of God. 36 And here’s something else: Your relative Elizabeth is pregnant. She is very old, but she is going to have a son. Everyone thought she could not have a baby, but she has been pregnant now for six months. 37 God can do anything!”

38 Mary said, “I am the Lord’s servant. Let this thing you have said happen to me!” Then the angel went away. – Luke 1:30-38 ERV

Ministry happens when you make yourself available for God’s miracle.

Three things to expect when you make yourself available for a miracle

1. It challenges your faith to stand

When you decide to be available for God’s miracle, it’ll test your faith. But remember, it is His work, and you are a part of what He is already doing. Trust Him and rely on His mighty power.

2. It’ll scare you

The angel of the Lord brought news to Mary about what’s going to happen. And the angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid.” Mary probably faced many accusations or rumors from other people for being pregnant with Jesus. She heard it from the angel about HOW she will be pregnant. But other people didn’t. Sometimes, it’s a scary thing to be available for God to perform miracles. But don’t be afraid! He is with you.

3. It’ll expand the Kingdom of God

God didn’t save your life for just going to heaven someday and be with Him. He saved you from being a part of His kingdom work and accomplishing what He is already doing. He called you to be a part of Kingdom expansion!

Are you available for that?
